The RUN 2001' raised more than $10M for BREAST CANCER RESEARCH & AWARENESS.

Nygård donated this year's 10th Anniversary commemorative 'Run for the Cure' T-shirts for all participants across Canada!

With the distinctive "I'm Running For" bib proudly pinned to their shirts, 115,000 Canadians across the country declared their motivation for participating in the CBCF CIBC Run for the Cure. The unofficial count for this year's campaign billed 'Who would you run for?' put the funds raised to date at more than $10M, with a projected final figure of $12M!

The CIBC Run for the Cure is the CBCF's largest national fundraising event supporting the advancement of breast cancer research, education, diagnosis & treatment & marks the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in OCT.

An estimated 19,500 Canadian women will develop breast cancer in 2001, and 5,500 will die from the disease.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Run. The first Run was held in Toronto - it drew 1,500 participants & raised $83,000. In 2000, 98,000 participants raised $9.3M.
