Convention Centre, Peter Nygård, Nygård associates, suppliers,
customers, family & special guests gathered to celebrate Nygård's 35
Years of Success in Business!
This special evening featured a fashion show showcasing Nygård designs from the 60's to today
-- a special cameo appearance by Supermodel Beverly Peele, well known on the
fashion circuit worldwide. Many special international guests were also in
attendance to pay tribute to Nygård. Internationally acclaimed singer Freda
Payne performed her hit 'Band of Gold' as well as a special solo 'His Way' to Peter
Nygård. Freda, sister of former Supremes member Scherrie Payne, has spent 4
decades on stage in Theater, Broadway, concerts & film.
In DEC-02, Women's
Wear Daily 'WWD', the fashion publication known world-wide & often referred
to as the 'Fashion Bible of the Industry', honoured Nygård (the Man & his
Company) with a 35 Year Milestone Tribute featuring his Rags-to-Riches story.
Suppliers, licensees, customers & friends participated in this tribute to
share their congratulations for a company that is the pinnacle of success! Full

Years of Success
Peter Nygård, Founder
& Chairman of Nygård, Canada's largest ladies' wear manufacturer, is a
pioneer in the Canadian Fashion Industry. In 1967 Nygård gathered his life
savings & borrowed capital to purchase 20% of a ladies garment manufacturer,
which within a few years he owned outright. Today he operates a women's
ready-to-wear business with annual sales in excess of $500M. Nygård
offers beautiful fashions at various price points - something for every woman to
enjoy. Nygård continues to 'raise the bar' in the standard of excellence for
North America's Women's Fashion industry.
