Dallas Market Center, the world’s largest wholesale merchandise resource, presented a special Best of Scene Award to NYGÅRD International during the 29th Annual Dallas Fashion Awards gala on October 23.

Best of Scene is a new Award highlighting a distinguished exhibitor in the edited temporary show Scene. In March 2004 Dallas Market Center launched Scene, a successful new show for hundreds of temporary apparel resources representing both emerging talent and renowned designers.  NYGÅRD International was selected by the Dallas Fashion Awards Committee for their 35 years of business, design excellence, and customer service.  Next year’s recipient will be elected by retailers. 

“Peter Nygård is a vibrant leader in the apparel industry and a marquee name for our market,” said Bill Winsor, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center.  “With this Award, we honor his craftsmanship and his support of our marketplace.”  

“I am pleased to accept this honor on behalf of NYGÅRD International and our hardworking employees,” said Peter Nygård.  “Our belief in quality design and customer service is exemplified by our special friendship with Dallas Market Center and its loyal customers.”

Along with the Awards, a silent auction of a special array of fashion accessories provided by the Fashion Group International (FGI) took place. Proceeds went toward the FGI Career Day scholarship fund.

The Dallas Fashion Awards, which in part benefits the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) and the Fashion Group International Scholarship Fund, took place Saturday, October 23, at 7:00 p.m. in the Great Hall of 2350 Stemmons, the former International Apparel Mart.
