On SAT OCT 7-06  - NYGÅRD, Canada's #1 Women's Fashion House, in business for over 35 years, celebrated the Grand Opening of its newest fashion concept store: ' NYGÅRD Fashion Park ' located at the RioCan Centre, 787 Memorial Ave.  The record breaking opening was the biggest success in the history of the company.

Founder & Chairman, Peter Nygård was joined by Customers, friends & other distinguished guests at the official opening festivities. International Singing Star & Supermodel Eha, as well as Miss Thunder Bay Sabrina Heerema-Agostino made special guest appearances during the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony & Fashion Show as the grand finale models.

The crowd enjoyed a 'Walk in the Park' Fashion Show that featured NYGÅRD's Fall & Holiday 2006 collections in the beautiful tranquil park-like setting of this flagship store.  Highlighting NYGÅRD's commitment to offer 'the fit for every woman', the show included 12 special NYGÅRD customers modeling different styles & sizes from the full range of NYGÅRD fashions!
Two of these customer models were breast cancer survivors from the Thunder Bay area & entire net proceeds from the sale of NYGÅRD for Life charity merchandise on SAT OCT7 will go to support breast cancer research in Northwestern Ontario. Customers were excited to see the renovation of the 10,000+ sq ft Thunder Bay concept store which includes the addition of NYGÅRD accessories & the amalgamation of all NYGÅRD brands. The NYGÅRD 'Concept Shopping 'is a 'store-within-a-store' experience - 'Denim', 'Black & White', 'Petites', the 'Pant Shop', & 'DFX' Designer brands @ 50-75% savings everyday are some of the innovative changes one can expect to find @ NYGÅRD Fashion Park!  Services like the NYGÅRD Tailor Shop offers customers the convenience of having alterations done in 'real time'.
